My first Z scale layout; "In Z Minor" was created by subwayaz

Well I plan on building a Suitcase layout but in my first lessons in z scale was to discover that you have to have a failry large suitcase to fit MT track in it. SO I had to order some other brand of track to be able to fit my case.
But that led me to having this MT track that I purchased so I constructed a small layout. And it will also get me used to running z scale trains verses the other scales that I already have experience with.
I glued it down to some Foam board

I'm going to be patient with this project but I can see already that I'm going to have to reconstruct this to provoke some more action/excitement.
I can see right off that I can expand the Sidling to hold more cars; presently it might be able to hold 3-4 cars at most. But I think something in or toward the middle might be nice.
Any suggestions are sure welcomed
Glen
I still will have that Rok track to help with the suitcase build but this layout will remain at home in my train room where I also have my HO & N scale layouts

You have a lot of options based on what you are showing. One is to actually add another siding towards the outside of the board. You can easily have 3 through tracks. You also have more than enough room for a 2nd or 3rd loop. I am a big fan of yards. One consideration is to extend off of your through tracks a spur that leads to ladder tracks with stub sidings for car storage. You have many options!

Thanks for the suggestions I'm sure I'll take you up on one of them.
And another question came to mind. Do you need a booster for those small controllers once you expand your layout?
Hey and I'll post pictures as my progress goes along.

I'm thinking about making a passing loop up top outside of the layout. Add about three inches deep around the top and join back up when the track straightens out on the opposite side.
Maybe make a yard coming off to the inside of the track. No drawing but hope you can get my drift.
Let me know what you all think?
Please

				Interesting....
I would consider playing with the station and turnout on the bottom so that the station can use the turnout.
For your B track you have a lot of curve and elevation going on in the hill. You might want to open up the top left corner to provide better access to the track. After all, we all know that if a car is going to uncouple and derail, it will happen in the middle of a tunnel.
