Got cover overhead!!!

Loren, While your out there looking in and wondering and picture seeing a train running from one end of the room and then across the room and back down the other side and back again that's a very long distance for that little Z scale to run. That would make a really enjoyable layout and all the trees and several city for it to have stops at mountains to go up and bridges to cross!!! I can see all that and I'm not even there to see the room, but from the pictures sure looks good!!!!!

Now that the contest entry date is past, I'll post a couple of update photos tonight. Starting to get there.

Let's see now. Since the entry date is passed, it is ok to give updates on progress so that some may moan and groan, and some may hold out hope their guess is still days away.

These coming two weeks promise to be hectic around here. Here's what is on the plate if all goes according to plan.

Keep in mind that the entire project is a bit more complicated than what may have first appeared.

For instance, since the French doors swing outward, (to save floor space) the patio on the outside had to be 1 1/2 inches below the door edge at most. This meant that to pass inspection the patio has to be poured before inspection.

Doors and windows are supposed to arrive this week. Patio will be framed up on Monday, poured on Tuesday with the electrician spending
Wednesday and Thursday and the heat pump heating system installed on Friday.

Likely the following week will see the insulation and dry wall done with painting probably Friday. I'm doing the flooring so when the painting is finished and the contractor walks out the contest is finished.

For those who may have guessed early November sometime, I'd guess that your entry may be in the running.

As of yesterday, Friday, the project is starting to come together. Windows were put in yesterday along with the heat pump moved and electrical is coming along nicely. It has to be finished by Monday for electrical inspection so the electrician will be working some this weekend.

Doors will be here Tuesday and after inspection, the insulation and dry wall will go on. I'm beginning to think about the end of the second week in November might see it completed.

Doors didn't come till today. Insulation has been approved and sheet rock is going up as I write. Sunny weather is holding on so that makes it nice for the workers.

All the doors are installed, the sheet rock is being mudded this week and hopefully the outside painted by Friday if the weather holds. For those who have a guess of next week some time, you may be close. Anybody's guess though.

Frankly, we're tired of all this constant state of flux, moving stuff all the time, clean up and sometimes I think the guys are slow, but I'm glad they are doing the work.

If the sky doesn't fall and the rain doesn't wash us away, some time next week should see the final bell ring for our contractor.

Undercoat went on today along with gutters, heating system and some interior trim work. Trim work should be finished tomorrow along with final paint coat. Almost ready for the contractor to 'walk out' I'll have things to do myself, but the contest is almost over.
