Check out Faller, they have N scale which will work for Z. Also there is a
dealer in the USA that offers them, but I cannot remember his name. I'm sure
there is someone here on the form that can provide.

Here is a huge site to get lost in. The site is Backdrop Warehouse and the url is: www.backdropwarehouse.com/indexbdwh.htm
It looks like this site can take your photos and make backdrops for you. And they have a photo gallery of users layouts which is a nice feature.

Their site layout is pretty confusing, but they do have some cool backgrounds.
I agree... one of the worst site designs in trying to easily locate specific backgrounds for your scale.

in Germany you can get a DVD for making backdrops by yourself.
Look at : JOWI Backdrops
and for the US look at : USA-DVD
You need a photo-shop-programme like "Corel Paint Shop Pro X" (geting for nothing) or "Adobe Photoshop" or ...
You find a how to do photoseries in My Gallery, searching Leonis1202.
If you would like to get the inventary-pdf-datas of the images on the DVD, write me a PN with your E-mail-adress.
GreetingZ,
Rolf

I like that site, they have a good selection. Plus you have the option of designing your own backgrounds. I could see someone going crazy to create a busy city background.

for my time-saver-layout (will be build) I have made a backdrop.
First I choose the "Rocky Mountains" and print it in scale TT (82 %).
Then I print "Colorado" with buildings and so on with 35 % (little bit under scale Z)
and the results is this :
My Backdrop
My Backdrop 2

I print it with my Epson PhotoStylus R 285 (6 color-printer).
And the results are O.K.
