marklin z wagon wheels?? was created by benscaro
What's a good source for Marklin's standard blackened wagon wheels (the 4.45mm diameter ones) or their spoked wheels ? - which I think only appear under a few older beer vans.

Regards

Ben

thanks for the helpful response, jdo. i will follow that up.

anyone know a good dealer in europe who keeps them?

frustratingly, regular marklin dealers that i've asked seldom if ever keep the wheels as separate parts (an observation that i hope will engender further helpful responses and head off facetious ones . . .)

I'm interested in the answer as well. Still have a lot of old passenger cars with plastic wheels that I would like to change to metal wheels.

For a European dealer that has the blackened metal wheels, as well as the silver ones and even a few spoked ones, try Scholz in Germany. Their website is:
www.scholz-modelleisenbahnen.de/
They don't speak English but I visited their shop a while back during a trip to southern Germany and I even had them ship a package to me here in the States. Scholz doesn't list the blackened ones on their website but if you can manage to send them an email in German, they are wonderful to deal with. As a side note, they aren't too far from Maerklin in Goeppingen and can get items in a few days. Also, they make their own detail items along with building the Westmodel items (not cheap but verrry nice) some of which are available here in the States from Aspen model in Colorado.

I don't know where you are situated, but a good source for Maerklin parts is the lokshop in Germany. They have a very good reputation in the Z-scale scene.
