In the beginning---- this was a coffe table...
Then I put Z trains inside, under glass, then I decided to make a ramp up/down so I could run trains on top of the table. Then I decided to add scenery below and outside the table. And Then... And Then...

And then I decided to expand LEFT on another table..
( I appologize for the poor quality of the fotos- many are polaroids and weren't ment for world view.)

Note- In the above foto -top center- you can see my solid wood "Stone
Mountain" with a tunnel running thru it with a hidden switch so the train can go either left or right.
THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO BUILD A RAILROAD!!

And then I decided to build my empire more to the right and was in the process of moving the desk out of the den
when
DRAGONLADY DECIDED that I and my trains had to move out! Gratefully she let me move to the cellar.
Just a warning-- Z grows on you.

Fred,

Remember whatever hurts you make you stronger. Looks good, hopefully the move will give you the space to expand and maybe build a harbor to go with that ship. Its just a recommendation.

No- This layout is ancient history-- Chopped it up and made an old timey
layout IN the coffee table.
I think I got what Jim's got-- Build em and destroy em syndrome.
But bigger is better in Z. I have a harbour city under developement But...

It looks artificial - especially the upper jaw area.

Chris-- I checked this thread and I think you are talking about the cat picture with the cab forward - only "upper jaw" I can figure. Yup- it's artificial, but it's a real picture of our cat- I did do some artwork-- read that made him crosseyed-- cut the mouth and inserted a PICTURE of a cab forward. NO cat would get his jaws on a Z cab forward while I'm around. I also put the tender on the wrong end. I'm not skilled in computer foto graphics- this was done the old way.- Just for fun.
Hope more members post thier pictures.

Fred, when I was a kid, we had a Maine Coon cat, it was bigger then the Manchester dog we had. The cat would chase HO trains around the track the minute they moved. No matter how careful you were the cat always seemed to hear the trains and instant attack. Unfortunate, there was an arch way into this room. That picture brought back so many fun memories. Thanks.

[Edit] OK - I have just realised that there are 4 pages in this thread and I presume that am on the wrong one.
