Bolster Pin Color Registration

How it works: Each car has two bolster pins that are used to hold the trucks in place. By painting these pins specific colors, the car ownership can be easily identified. The chart assumes that the bolster pin is black. Black and no color are one and the same on the chart. Ztrack has registered no color/no color so any cars that don't have painted pin must be ours
I am in the process of updating the chart. We have opened a new category, gray. To view the existing chart, please visit:

My colour of choice is baby (or light/powder) blue and has been since 1993.

John, my color combo is priceless... purely priceless. The way I see it, when ever I visit a Z scalers layout, I always know which equipment is mine. Wow, just imagine if I visited the MTL factory...

I have found it very profitable to carry a small bottle of paint thinner, some cotton swabs, and my green paint stick with me every time I go to the shows. I always seem to come home with a much larger rolling stock roster than when I showed up for set up.
Could that be why I am banned on the entire West coast at train shows?

Ztrack Magazine maintains the Z Scale Bolster Pin ID codes for members of the Z community. Painted bolster pins are used to identify car ownership.

I vote to retire the combination colors of Gold & Silver the same way professional football, baseball, and basketball jersey numbers are retired to MemorialiZe the players that made them famous. In this case, the colors of Gold & Silver should always remain with the Z-Bend Originator, Bill Kronenberger.

Hey Rob, did I ever mention to you that I've invented a new suction machine that can quietly, and almost without any perceptible movement, suck rolling stock off the tracks at 20 feet?
Looks like I'll soon have a whole new fleet of slightly used rolling stock to sell on the black market, er, I mean Ebay.
How else will I finance my drug habit....i.e. cab forward and Challenger.

Oh well, either way, Rob's collection diminishes in size, right?
