Murray, Welcome. I'm the fellow that gave you the heads up here. There are about 3 or 4 from Alberta. They will be along shortly. You have already seen the difference between websites. This is a more 'visual' site. We have our Forums like all the rest, but we are the most photo friendly. Search through the site expecially the Forums and Galleries. It is all here, you just have to look for it. Of course, all your questions will be answered as you ask them. Also, I just noticed that a fellow named Joshua just joined yesterday from Alberta as well. Friend of yours? Cheers, Jim CCRR:)

Hello Canada Mike,
I'm 300 km east of you in The Hat.
You're right about a scarcity of zedders. But I'm a lone wolf modeller and somehow Z scale and being a lone wolf are compatible.
Capture my email and we can chat sometime. I get into Cowtown about 4 times a year or so.

Thanks, I like the visual web site better than the Yahoo site, The group is great, just THIS site is more eye appealing and to me, easier to navigate.

Hi there, Canada Mike and Murray from Medicine Hat. This is Josiah from Spruce Grove. I'm an Albertan Z scaler, just joined the forum here a couple days ago. I've been into Z for a few years but just took the leap from armchair modeler/collector about a year and a half ago when I began construction on my current 2' X 4' apartment size layout. Mike, that's your add in the back of Ztrack magazine, isn't it? Unfortunately, I don't make too many trips to Calgary.

A couple of years ago, at The Glenmore Inn, there was a chap who had a display layout of Z scale operating. There was a train show going on at the time, lots of the usual buyers, hawkers etc.
By any coincidence, are you this fellow.

YUPPERS THATS MY AD. ITS BEEN IN THERE A FEW YEARS NOW, oops caps on. i ve been hooked on z for 5 years now. i was sickened on just how little z was in canada, and i wanted to try anything to bring more zheads into canada. i ve been selling locos for 4 years, this might be my last year, now the govern. wants to tax us,, forget that. i ve got an impressive collection, im short about 3 steamers from owning every z scale steamer ever made. i use both mtl and marklin cars. im building a huge layout in my basement, im hoping to make it a record,, we ll see how it goes. if you ever need ANYTHING, i have many german friends, most of everything i buy is from germany. so if you need that one hard to get,, look me up first,,ok.
yes i ve tried to get a z club going here for awhile now. i ve met about 5 people, 3 had no time, one tried to just find a person to build his dream layout, and lastly one was a priest, and had to spend more time with god, than z scale,,,which is fine with me. i d like to just find 2 people to get a nice z group started, i never thought that starting a group was soo hard!! if you guys ever get to calgary, get ahold of me, and we can do lunch, talk trains. im on everynight online, im a pro poker player, so if you ever want to just chat,, email me.

Hi Murray,
Glad to meet you! I'm up in Edmonton and have a Z thing going on when I'm not busy with the rest of my life. Here's my Z micro layout page .
Take care!
