Model Train Watching was created by loadmaster
Hello all,

I guess many of us like to watch trains running, both model and prototype. I guess many of us have seen the video from Miniature Wonderland. Let me start this blog that anyone can post links to interesting videos of model train layouts. This one is on You Tube and is of Italian Trains. If anyone else had an interesting link, please add to this blog.

Hope you enjoy,

Robert, Not bad. Amazing what a crew of 1000 club members can come up with. Cheers, Jim CCRR:blink:

Nice. It could be done in Z, if someone comes up with some serious dough and hire the best Z-scalers to have a full time model making job for the same or better wages than they currently earn...

The video was a joy to watch B) Lajos's idea is worth pursuing, if only in our dreams....

1. In what city could it work best to get the talent necessary to do such an enormous project?

2. Would a separate building be best to locate the layout, would a storefront in a well known mall suffice, or does another location come to mind?

3. Where would a person get the money for start up?

4. Who has the time to work on this project?

I'm all gung-ho about talking about it, even if it never gets off the ground. It's such an interesting idea to dream about. Dreams sometimes have a way of becoming reality :)

Here is one I found on You Tube, I think it's Spanish but the trains look like Z Scale.

!

Enjoy,

Robert

Robert,

Thanks for posting the video. It looks like Z to me too, but I'm not sure. He's also got a video about soldering where you can see the size of the track compared to his hands and tools. Can you tell the scale from it?

Looking at the switches, track bumpers, turntable and some of the models in the engine yard, they look like Marklin components. It does very much look as if it is Z-scale. Impressive layout none the less.

Mike

(At about 2:40 into the video you get a good look at the couplers between cars. Definitely Z-scale Marklin)
