RANT: I've been looking at trees for Z and wonder why there are so many dwarf trees available. I grew up in Ohio farm country with big old trees. You know the 40 to 70 ft oaks and maples(that's 1 5/8 to 4" in 1:220 scale.) OK, so realistic sized trees may over whelm the scene, but a Z squirrel (3/32" in 1:200) just doesn't look right in a nut tree
shorter the a two story house.
End of Rant, and thank you for your time.
PS - know anyone who makes Z squirrels, and rats?

I've been looking for decent tree's too. Or even a way to make them myself from common materials. The quest continues...

Check out the November/December 2009 issue of Ztrack. We have a comprehensive article on trees. We focussed on the JTT line, but the dimensions, scaling and even a scale tree chart is included in the article. Here is a link:
www.ztrack.com/issues/issues_09.html
The real key is to ignore the scale printed on tree boxes. Even if it says HO, it is really about the height of the tree. Any remember, trees are tall!!!
There are some great options, including higher detailed trees from JTT and Woodland Scenics. I have not tried the Architrees yet, but the photos I have seen online look very good.
