i just bought into another bunch of 3mm by 2.2mm leds,,, 50 of every color, and never came close to 100 dollars american. im just wondering if the sell these voltage regulaters as well,, they do sound alot easyier than the resister way,,, add a dial to it, and you can adjust it for even better control!! canada mike

I imagine you can get them from most any large electronics source--Mouser, DigiKey, etc.--but I haven't gone hunting for them yet. I don't mind paying Ngineering extra for some things, because I'm paying for the convenience of their having done the homework for me. When I get to the point that I need dozens, then I'll find another source.

The current regulator chips are quite small, about the size of a conventional PNP transistor. Here's an image of one installed inside a building; it's the fuzzy black blob hanging off the top left side of the PC board (I'll get around to taking a clearer shot at some point)--
I imagine you can get them from most any large electronics source--Mouser, DigiKey, etc.--but I haven't gone hunting for them yet. I don't mind paying Ngineering extra for some things, because I'm paying for the convenience of their having done the homework for me. When I get to the point that I need dozens, then I'll find another source.

Not yet. Haven't reached the point of needing bunches of them, but I imagine I will at some point. Meanwhile, I'm still soldering leads to 0402s (yes, still--I'll hopefully be done soon).
