As many of you know, I'm building a layout representing all 50 states-- and to identify the states, ( buildings or land formations) I subtlely add flag poles flying distinctive state flags in almost z scale. I don't know if you can download the following but if not-
order a FREE catalog from CRW FLAGS. they have a color brochure with many city, county, state and national flags.

Kelley. Some other figures you might build-- Sargent Preston of the RCMP and his trusty dog KING. The Lone Ranger and Silver, Hoppalong Cassidy and Topper, Nellybelle, The JUDGE, Bullet the dog, Zorro, Davy Crockett and a bear, ....the Colonel, Kit,

Fred a lot of those were before my time, but I do know the reruns. There was somebody who was going to make famous houses that was in the movies in Z.. They did make Dorothy's house, but that's all have I seen so far. I am working on a cabin to go with the truck I made. As far as other figures, well, I like the Addams and the Frau likes the Munsters, so I don't know which to make.
Getting back to flags, I was working making flagpoles in Z. Thinking about tubing that could fit inside one another. I got some different size IV needles from a local pharmacist (he does HO and has trains in his pharmacy so it was no problem.) I was going to glue the tubes together and insert some steel wire in the middle.
For the flags I need to get some thin metal foil and decal and shape them, so it looks like its fluttering.
Flags are good idea and can show what time period, as well as draw attention and identify a building. (School, post office, court house, ect.)

OOOOOOh- I hate needles- hobby shops should carry fine copper/brass tubing. That's what I use and copper wire for topmast. Some times I fit a crosstree and Gaff. I like gussied up stuff.

But please remember: Oregon is the only state in the union that has a different image on each side of the flag. There is an image of a beaver on the back side of the flag from what is shown in Fred's 'poster'.

That's true-- Massachussetts also had a two faced flag- an indian on one side and a pine tree on the other- but changed to Massasoit ( the indian on both) several years ago.
