Sorry Terry, seems like it's mainly those of us on the left coast. I don't think we have a Boston (although I like their music).
Maybe a Portland Z party.

If memory serves. Actually Portland cement derives from the similar color of Portland Stone, quarried on the Isle of Portland somewhere in the British Isles. I'm from Portland, OR, and I know it's not famous for Portland cement. A teacher in Grade 8 explained this to me in 1958. I don't know how I remember this kind of stuff. Cheers, Jim CCRR:)

Yes, Portland Cement is named after a Portland in England. I have never heard of it being called that because of the color. I believe it was called that because of where it was originally developed. Though
this wikipedia entry
supports Jim's assertion.
BTW, the name of the city of Portland, OR was decided by a coin flip between two major landholder/developers. One was from Portland, ME. And the other was from - Boston, MA. Boston, Oregon just does not even sound right.
Portland is also nicknamed "Stump Town". If we throw enough stumps in the river, it will shut down shipping. I won't be joining though. I've still got some reading to do in my issue.

Brad,
You are more than welcome. I was very pleased how that issue came out. Let me know if you need any extra copies. I hope all is well with you two.
