It is hard to tell from the picture, but it looks like some nice track work. Look forward to more photos. We tend to be photo hungry here so post away!

I just got a Nikon Coolpix P60 that I like. This is my first digital camera so I'm still learning to use it, but am happy with it so far.

Looks nice. A 4MP should be anough for web use. Try to switch off the flash, use natural light or daylight lamps (from far enough to avoid harsh shadows). That would help.

The layout uses all MTL track that have been ballasted with WS fine gray ballast. The layout is 92 x 38. Thanks for the comment and encouragement.

i like your track plan. the layout that i'm planning will be close to the size of yours. are you planning more tall landscaping for the rest of the layout or are you going to keep the area flatter for industries and towns. thanks for the photo's and nice work

Yes, it does look good and congratulations on your progress. Does the outer single track loop connect to the inner double track loop?

Gary,

I plan on keeping the rest of it flat. The part left of the turntable will be used for the town annd housing district. The space between the outer single loop and the inner double loop will be for a grain facility.

Ausman - The two do not connect. I thought about once I got everything laid out. There's always next time.

Here are a few pictures using natural daylight. What a difference. They are kind of blurry, I will just have to work out the details.

Big difference with natural light! You actually see the mountains in the distance B) And they look good. Grass also comes over fine. The first one is a bit blurry, the second one suffers from limited depth of field (the "conrail" logo on the engine in the tunnel is sharp but the second engine isn't)

For the blurr, try to get some stable support for your camera (or use the self-timer and don't hold the camera).

For the depth of field issue, if you have a zoom, use the wide-angle, wide-angle always has more depth of field. Otherwise you could try to raise the iso setting of your camera so it can use higher f numbers (this increases depth of field). Or maybe there is even a setting for this?

You got an excellent subject to practise. Don't think many will object to see more pics as it continues to take shape.

Much better with the natural light. I too am learning photography so all of this advise is very welcome. The layout is coming along very well.
