Recall of Great Northern Dome Car by Micro Trains

For those of you who are ordering the GN dome car from any dealer
please be aware that today MTL issued to their dealers a recall on the
March release of the GN dome car because of a printing error.

You will need to decide with your dealer if you want to accept the car
as it stands,or wait for the new release in May. You will have to
work out the options and details with your dealer.

This is a bummer for dealer and customer alike. I just wanted to
alert the Z world of this small? snafu..

For those of you who like to blame Rob Kluz for every snafu with AZL
and Joe D'Amato for every snafu with MTL.....don't !

In this case Joe had absolutely nothing to do with this quality
control issue.

Yeah Robert, I'm wondering the same thing.... My money is on the likelihood MTL will simply grind them up and remelt. Still a big expense and in my book, an incompetent got away with murder. You know, there is always one head quality control person at any plant and if they don't do their job, well, the rest of the slope gets more slippery as you slide down.

Loren,
Thanks for alerting us.. Just wonder why someone AT Micro Trains has not felt it necessary to post to different groups. I believe the discussions on Trainboard made this printing error discovery. Sort of like the switches- BUYER BEWARE. This error is on thier web site, but many buyers don't go there frequently and buy direct from dealers.
Thanks again,
Fred
I do support Micro Trains but think customer relations could be improved.
