Well. You can do it, but I don't recommend it unless you have that photo blown up 16x24 and hanging on your layout room wall. Just my thoughts on the subject. lol Jim

Fred wrote: This is Just For Fun---I found this solid cast Life Saving Station-- The shelter is Z! So are the rocks and surrounding sceniked area. :silly: But the boat is very small. I was going to incorporate this with one of my lighthouses but will, instead, scratch build. Almost did it for Schoolhouse/Tabor Cabin/Speeder Shed contests.

Nice one.

Three different churches- The big church on left is from Danbury Mint-and is a replica of the Midway Church in Georgia. ( I added some scenery) the middle one is Marklin ( note change in steeple) and the one on right I found at Cracker Barrel. Danbury has a series of 8 famous American solid cast churches- 4 of which can be used for Z.

My only question is where does Fred store all of his collections? Maybe he has an underground bunker somewhere outside of Dragon Lady's view? :o)

I thought this guy was crazy peeing his pants the way he did. Then I found out this is an inside joke/parody on another weirdo. So don't get too excited, this all staged. Sorry, Jim

"Old Swedes Church" by Danbury Mint- Another solid cast building suitable for Z...An unusual design with stairs to upper level and very fine brick and stone work. 1993

I was looking around at Danbury Mint's webpage but had troubles finding these buildings - I only found a few baseball fields. Where do you find all these buildings?

Petter,
There is a site on (Ebay) that has over 3,900 Danbury Mint items... Different sellers- etc. Go to collectables- plates and figurines. There are two Swedes churches there as well as lots of other interesting stuff. Be careful most of the buildings are not suitable for Z.
Harbor Lights is another good site for buildings- but again- scale varies. Best, if at all possible, visit store and See item desired.
Fred
PS- I was on DB site last night. just for fun

Example of forced perception --The tug and patrol boat are Z--The bridge must be about- guess- 1:800-
the bow (pointy end) of tug is just under the bridge.. but it looks way in the background. We often have to "adjust" or layouts - such as truncating buildings, having so much track in such limited space- add in fa night em.
