The space underneath the layout frame is determined by the thickness of the closed cell foam support. That space is ¾ inch finished, in other words: 0.70" (18 mm). I need a little extra clearance to protect the wiring, like a ¼ inch (6 mm), because the bottom must be capable to slide in/out of my motorhome storage compartment. Commercial barrier strips are too high! Therefore I decided to make my own “shallow” barrier strips from “Vector Board”.
I bought 3 vector boards with predrilled holes at 0.1” by 0.1” grid.
I cut the board lengthwise in strips. See the marking on the board
